Rick’s Bedroom Carpet Looked Brand New After This Deep Carpet Cleaning
See our AMAZING RESULTS below!
Hey, I’m Benjamin Bertolami, owner of Supreme Carpet Cleaning right here in Calgary, AB. Every now and then, a job comes along that really reminds you why you do what you do. Rick’s job was one of those. He had a bedroom carpet that hadn’t seen a professional cleaning in over ten years — and he needed it looking its best before putting his home on the market. If you’ve ever wondered whether a carpet that is far gone can actually be saved, stick with me. And if you’re dealing with something similar, I’d love to show you what we can do for you too.
Here’s Rick’s Story
Rick reached out to us at Supreme Carpet Cleaning with a pretty specific concern. He was getting ready to sell his house and knew the bedroom carpet was going to be a problem. It hadn’t been professionally cleaned in more than a decade, and the traffic lane running through the room had built up years and years of deep, ground-in soil. He wasn’t expecting miracles — he just wanted it to look better, to feel confident walking buyers through that room. Honestly? That’s a completely fair ask, and it’s exactly the kind of challenge we love stepping up to.

What We Found When We Walked Into That Bedroom
When I walked into that bedroom, I could see right away what Rick was talking about. The traffic lane was heavily soiled — a dark, worn path where years of foot traffic had pushed dirt and grime deep down into the carpet fibers. Think of it like a sponge that’s been squeezed over and over again, forcing debris further and further down with every step. The rest of the carpet wasn’t in terrible shape, but that high-traffic zone looked like a completely different carpet from the rest of the room.
This is something we see pretty often in Calgary homes. Between Alberta’s road salt in the winter, the fine dust that blows in during the drier months, and the everyday wear of a well-lived-in home, carpets can accumulate an incredible amount of soil over time. Once it gets packed into the base of the fibers, a regular vacuum just isn’t going to cut it. I’ll be honest — ten-plus years of embedded soil is a real test, but I’ve seen what our process can do, and I knew we had a good shot at making this carpet look a whole lot better than it did when I walked in.
Here’s Exactly What We Did to Turn Things Around
The first thing I did was give the entire room a thorough vacuum. This step matters more than most people realize — before you introduce any moisture, you want to lift as much dry, loose soil as you can. Skipping it would just turn that dry dirt into mud once the pre-spray goes on. After vacuuming, I pre-sprayed the whole room with our professional-grade solution, paying special attention to that heavily soiled traffic lane. The pre-spray breaks down the bond between the soil and the fibers, loosening everything packed in there. I let it dwell about fifteen minutes — you can’t rush this part.
Once the dwell time was up, I agitated the traffic lane to work the pre-spray deeper into the pile and make contact with as much of that built-up soil as possible — a bit like scrubbing a tough stain on a shirt. Then came the main event: steam cleaning the entire room with hot water extraction, flushing the carpet with hot water and immediately pulling it back out along with all the loosened dirt and solution. It’s the most thorough method there is — clean down through the fibers, not just on the surface. At Supreme Carpet Cleaning, that multi-step process is just how we do things. We don’t cut corners — we clean them.
The Results Honestly Blew Us Both Away
When I finished and we both stood back and looked at that room, the transformation was genuinely impressive. That carpet looked brand new. The heavy, dark traffic lane that had been so obvious when I walked in? Gone. The fibers had opened back up, the color had come back to life, and the whole room just looked fresh and bright.
It’s one of those results that’s hard to fully describe until you see it — imagine taking a faded old photo and suddenly seeing it in full color again. Years of built-up soil, ground-in grime, and neglect were gone, and what was left looked like something you’d see in a show home. This is exactly the kind of result we aim for at Supreme Carpet Cleaning on every job. We use eco-friendly solutions that are safe for kids and pets, and whether a carpet has been neglected for a year or a decade, we bring everything we’ve got.
And what does Rick think?
Rick was thrilled — that’s really the best word for it. He’d come in hoping for “better,” and what he got was a carpet that looked completely restored. For someone putting their home on the market, that kind of result matters; first impressions count for everything when buyers walk through a home, and a clean, fresh bedroom carpet tells a very different story than a dark, worn-out one. Seeing that genuine surprise and relief on a customer’s face is honestly one of the best parts of this job — it never gets old.
If you’ve got a carpet that’s seen better days — whether you’re getting ready to sell, or you’ve just been putting it off for too long — we’d love to come take a look.
